We want to thank all of our family and friends for following us on our adventure. With over 2,100 miles of steep, rugged terrain to navigate, this hike will be both extremely challenging and rewarding. Every year there are between 1000 and 3000 men and women that attempt to complete the AT in a single season (aka. Thru-Hike) The average number of hikers that succeed is 10% or 100-300. This year we hope to become members of this so called "Thru-Hiker Fraternity" Enjoy!! Tony and Cory

Ice Cream in New York - Mile 1,375
I stopped in Bellvale NY to have what is supposed to be the best ice cream on the trail. This place was only .3 miles off the trail and very close to Greenwood Lake where I stayed for the night. Anton's motel is right on the lake and the little village is a lot like Harpers Ferry WV. The cone was very good but the jury's still out on whether it is better than Ben and Jerry's. ( which I pass by in Vermont ).
Sundown on the New York countryside behind the Creamery.
