We want to thank all of our family and friends for following us on our adventure. With over 2,100 miles of steep, rugged terrain to navigate, this hike will be both extremely challenging and rewarding. Every year there are between 1000 and 3000 men and women that attempt to complete the AT in a single season (aka. Thru-Hike) The average number of hikers that succeed is 10% or 100-300. This year we hope to become members of this so called "Thru-Hiker Fraternity" Enjoy!! Tony and Cory

POSTING PROBLEMS
Friday, March 23, 2012
Walasi-yi Center
Note the boots in the trees, they are EVERYWHERE inside and out. The "goal" is to have a pair of used hiking boots for every mile of the trail.
Walasi-yi at Neel's Gap
The only spot on the trail where it actually goes through a building. Our first resupply of the trip and a really cool place in general!
Zero Day #1
We hiked 9.4 miles out of low gap to Unicoi gap this morning. The weather has been bad, rain most of the day yesterday, all night and heavy rains today. The trail was muddy and it made the downhill's difficult. BUT WAIT!!!.... We are staying at a Holiday Inn EXPRESS! Going to stay another night tomorrow to rest and recoup from our first 6 days and 51 miles of hiking. More to come, thanks to all who have posted!
